Where is the best BBQ in the United States? Mostly likely in your backyard or kitchen!
Welcome to the 2023 Rubs of the States BBQ Photo Contest. Put on your new SPN apron, and let your inner pitmaster out. Using whatever meat or rub you’d like — though, we think you’ll use one of your new rubs in the SPN box you received — barbeque up a recipe that shows the rest of the Network that your state’s got the best food.
Directions for Contest:
- Using one of the rubs in your SPN box, or one of your own original creations, make a BBQ recipe that you’d share with members of the Network.
- Take a photo of you, in your apron, with your finished and plated dish.
- Complete the recipe/registration form and upload your photo.
All registrations must be submitted by March 31, 2023. Winners will be announced by April 14, 2023.
Judging Criteria:
- Appearance: How appetizing does it look?
- Tenderness: Does it look tender and juicy?
- Creativity: Does the photo or choice in recipe display creativity?
Awards:
- First Place: $500
- Second Place: $250
- Third Place: $100
