Steamboat Institute recently hosted three Campus Liberty Tour debates on climate and energy policy at the University of Maryland, College Park, University of Dallas, and Oklahoma State University. The Buckeye Institute filed its amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in Glacier Northwest v. International Brotherhood of Teamsters, urging the court to make it clear that union vandalism and destruction of property are never “protected activit[ies]” in labor disputes.
The Buckeye Institute filed an amicus brief in Texas v. Yellen with the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. The Buckeye Institute previously filed briefs in similar cases (Ohio v. Yellen, West Virginia v. Yellen, and Arizona v. Yellen), which urged those respective courts to rule that the Biden Administration’s tax mandate—included in the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)—is ambiguous and therefore unenforceable and that the treasury secretary cannot fix Congress’s error through regulatory action.
Kansas Justice Institute is representing a Cowley County bird dog trainer and handler who has filed a property rights suit against Kansas Animal Health Commissioner Justin Smith, D. V. M., in his capacity as Animal Health Commissioner with the state Department of Agriculture, citing the state’s unconstitutional licensing and warrantless searches of private property.
