Libertas Network Proves Policy and Innovation Go Hand in Hand

SPN affiliates have been at the forefront of education policy reform for decades, championing ideas and solutions that provide families with more quality education options and remove regulatory barriers to innovative education models. In Utah, the Libertas Network is taking its commitment to education freedom to the next level by acquiring Praxis Careers LLC. This move signals a bold step forward in reshaping traditional education and promoting career readiness.

If the last few years in education have taught us anything, it’s that families across the country want more high-quality, customized education options—ones that prepare the next generation of American leaders for real-world success, not just standardized tests. With 15 states now adopting universal education choice programs, a robust supply of education options must exist for families to choose from.

Libertas has been a key leader on the ground in Utah, tirelessly advocating for education policies that put families and students first. In 2023, Utah Governor Spencer Cox signed the Utah Fits All Scholarship program into law, where participants receive an education spending account of up to $8,000 to pay for education-related items, including textbooks, tutors, and private school tuition. SPN and Libertas were part of a coalition of education freedom advocates that saw this reform to the finish line. In 2024, Governor Cox also signed SB13 into law, removing burdensome zoning regulations for microschool owners, which Libertas championed in the state legislature. Libertas’ acquisition of Praxis marks its latest effort to revitalize the education system in Utah and across the country.

Praxis Careers LLC has built a reputation for its forward-thinking approach to education and workforce development. The organization specializes in bridging the gap between traditional education and practical career readiness by offering alternative pathways for young professionals to gain real-world experience and skills. Students who enroll in the program benefit from one-on-one mentorship, develop essential skills, learn how to navigate the job market, build professional networks, manage their finances, and more. By acquiring Praxis, Libertas is scaling the program and connecting students with its vast network of business leaders and entrepreneurs. This also ensures that students can access education options that align with their unique goals and aspirations.

“Bringing Praxis into the Libertas Network offers us the chance to supercharge a program that’s already changing lives and align it with our broader mission to rewrite the rules of opportunity,” said Connor Boyack, president of the Libertas Network. “I can’t wait to see the incredible things our participants achieve as we build this future together. We’re going to 10x Praxis and create a large network of ambitious young people building better lives without barriers in the way. The acquisition of Praxis is more than a business move—it’s a statement of intent. At Libertas Network, we’re not content to tweak the edges of a broken system—we’re here to build something entirely new.”

As policymakers and education leaders look for solutions that truly meet the needs of students, Libertas is proving that innovation and policy reform can go hand in hand. This is the power of the Network. Our affiliates and partners on the ground in the states have a unique vantage point that gives them the ability to recognize and seize policy reform opportunities that arise. In addition, affiliates can leverage key capacities, like Libertas has done with the integration of Praxis, to ensure that good ideas last for generations.
