California Freedom Foundation helps 20,000 Californians leave their union

During September and October, Freedom Foundation sent tens of thousands of emails and mail to members of the California Teachers Association and the California School Employees Association and visited with more than 10,000 public employees at their government offices.  Since the Janus decision, we’ve helped 20,000 Californians leave their union.

Freedom Foundation currently has eight active legal cases on behalf of public employees who are being barred from having union dues deductions stopped, and are currently preparing to file new legal action in the near future. California attorneys for the Freedom Foundation recently settled two cases out of court with two different SEIU locals. In both cases, public employees were being prevented from resigning union membership and cutting off dues payments for months until the Freedom Foundation attorneys stepped in.

The Freedom Foundation has directly helped more than 60,000 people on the West Coast leave their union since the Janus v. AFSCME decision in June 2018.
