The Foundation for Government Accountability announced new welfare, healthcare, and work reforms that will empower states to combat rising health care costs, remove barriers to work for individuals seeking jobs, and empower more able-bodied Americans to experience the powerful benefits of work in 2019. FGA will continue working on its current reforms in addition to the new solutions. Association health plans and short-term plans will give small business owners, entrepreneurs, and people in transition more options for affordable health insurance. FGA has also added two new reforms to its Freedom to Work initiative aimed at breaking down barriers to work: Keep Americans Working and Empower Independent Contractors. And FGA’s Parent Workfare reform builds on its efforts to expand commonsense work requirements in welfare programs. FGA looks forward to working with state lawmakers and leaders to promote solutions that will lift people out of dependency and promote the power of work in 2019.
