Policy Orientation provides launching point for legislative priorities for Texas Legislature

Thanks to a biennial session, the Texas Legislature will not meet again until 2021. But that doesn’t stop the Texas Public Policy Foundation from working hard to better the lives of everyday Texans across the state.

TPPF kicked off the year with its three-day policy conference, Policy Orientation 2020. The event featured 32 panels on topics ranging from criminal procedure, innovative solutions to school choice, property tax reform, a path forward after the Affordable Care Act, workforce development, and more. Speakers included the likes of Congressman Dan Crenshaw, Congressman Chip Roy, Tim Carney, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Former US Senator Jim DeMint, Executive Director of the US Interagency Council on Homelessness Robert Marbut, Alice Johnson, Political Commentator Jason Chaffetz, and George Forman (Yes, that George Forman)—just to name a few.

Policy Orientation was attended by nearly 1000 activists, legislative staffers, and concerned citizens, and was a great launching point for conversations and legislative priorities for the 87th legislative session.

As if Policy Orientation wasn’t crazy enough, TPPF introduced its new voter integrity initiative with the video Politiqueria! Watch the video here. This new initiative, which will launch in the spring of 2020, emphasizes the need to ensure and uphold the integrity of our elections.
