Joe Nichols mentioned this article when we were talking about providing resources and giving your apprentice more background about think tanks, litigation centers, and some of the specific issues your organizations are engaged in this year. Attached is an excerpt Joe shared with me that they use at the beginning of each intern class and then Rea Hederman (Buckeye’s VP Policy) gives a background about the history and evolution of think tanks. They mostly focus in the discussion on how Heritage evolved to actively influence debates while still producing quality research and how the Buckeye model closely tracks Heritage.
