Here’s a puzzle from the Idaho Freedom Foundation: We’ve partnered with a non-profit civil rights law firm to help some Idaho small business owners who are about to lose their livelihoods sue the state.
We’re working on copy for a fundraising webpage, for the Small Business Defense Fund, which will help pay legal costs for these cases. Our communication director wanted to see advice on how to word copy in a way that makes it clear (1) This money could be used for any small business defense, not just for the main picture/story, and (2) If there are leftover funds, IFF will add them to our general fund (we’re not going to look for lawsuits just to use up extra money!).
Anyone have any thoughts about wording, or specific phrases to include so donors know exactly what they’re giving to?
