Colleagues,
I’m attaching the draft list of zoning policies for the toolkit. Emily and I added some more new ideas – those are marked with asterisks. We also categorized them. This is a lot like a restaurant menu: the appetizers come first (“allow small retail stores on corner residential lots”), then the standard fare (“abolish parking minimums”), and finally the fancy multi-course options. For dessert, we have private action (“Include ADUs and natural guest or short-term rental space in newly-built housing”)!
I’m not sure if this venue is suitable for co-drafting a document, but please at least look through and do the following:
1) Ask about any items that are confusing (Google them first, then ask).
2) Note any items you feel uneasy about.
3) Suggest additions
4) Don’t worry about wordsmithing yet
We envision each item becoming a two-sentence description, with a handful of proven ‘case studies’ highlighted for longer treatment.
