Project Roles

RASCI model

Responsible: Project leader. Takes initiative, develops alternatives, provides analysis, makes initial recommendations, accountable for project results and processes, including establishing processes if needed. Responsible for escalating issues related to project or project team members to appropriate manager.

Approve: Decision maker. Signoff or veto a decision before it’s implemented, accountable for decision quality ensuring obstacles are removed for project manager.

Support: Project team. Has primary role in doing tasks for project to be completed. Accountable for collaborating and contributing to project results.

Consult: Consulted prior to decision, but has no veto power. If there is disagreement, this must be communicated to A before final decision is made.

Inform: Notified of decision before implementation or public announcement. Need to know outcome for related/task decision, may or may not be asked to provide input.
