America At Its Best – Live at LaunchPad 2021: Black Minds Matter

Member of this Network have long fought for greater school choice so parents across the country can find the best education needs for their children. Nowhere else is this need more important than the African American community, whose children are often failed by poor preforming schools and a lack of alternatives.

With a fresh perspective on the school choice debate, Denisha Merriweather founded Black Minds Matter to bridge this gap and specifically address the critical need for better education opportunities for African American students. She saw momentum for criminal justice reform that was spurred by the death of George Floyd and thought it was important to also draw attention to the similar inequities for African Americans in our nation’s public education system.

At LaunchPad, she had the opportunity to talk with education experts, communications experts, and entrepreneurs who helped her refine her idea and walk away with actionable next steps to take her organization to the next level.
