I found this article in HBR this past week, which lays out a great framework for starting to develop a coaching plan with an individual. It emphasizes that all of the people we coach are unique, and taking the time to understand (and track!) what their specific issues and developments are is extremely important to coaching effectively.

It also includes some bullet points/checklists to help you get started as you think about building coaching plans, which I find helpful regardless of whether or not you want to use the exact framework that the authors lay out.
