States respond to growing economic concerns

SPN’s State Voices polling shows that over half of Americans believed their personal financial situation in May was either good or excellent. This is consistent with a recent Wall Street Journal poll that shows despite a belief that the American economy generally is in poor shape, most individuals are doing alright.

But while many American households view things on track for now, nearly three-quarters are making cutbacks and 95% are concerned about inflation. Americans believe there is an economic storm coming and are preparing accordingly.
