State Policy Network
SPN Professional Development BrownBag Series: The Overton Window

We all know how challenging it is to find time for professional development training and conversations in the midst of everyday responsibilities. Yet such discussions and training can play an essential role in our continued professional growth and our ability to make a positive difference in our state and for our nation.

SPN’s Professional Development BrownBag series gives Network members a reason to carve out one hour each month to set the day-to-day aside, focus on important topics, and learn from each other.

In the fourth edition of our series we were joined by Larry Reed, President Emeritus and Humphreys Family Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Economic Education. Having been the President of the Mackinac Center for 21 years before this role, Larry Reed is familiar with the state think tank Network and both the challenges and opportunities presented to us as leaders in this movement. Larry discussed the Overton Window, how policy attitudes are shifting across the country, and how the Network can make a positive difference.
