TPPF provides recommendations to fight COVID-19

COVID-19 has thrown the world into disarray. But in these moments of uncertainty, individuals and institutions look for solutions. The Texas Public Policy Foundation was quick to respond to the rapidly evolving policy needs in response to the coronavirus crisis.

TPPF published a response agenda with 10 recommendations for Congress and the Texas Legislature. These recommendations include cutting the payroll tax, overhauling the Food and Drug Administration, and eliminating regulations not necessary for public health and safety.

Additionally, TPPF launched a new podcast, “The Road to Recovery” where TPPF experts discuss the most pressing issues related to healthcare, the economy, education, local regulations, and individual rights—through the lens of COVID-19.

TPPF is hosting virtual events every week to stay connected to their supporter base as well as weekly tele-town halls with their donors. Virtual events have included What’s Next? Rebuilding the American Economy and Suddenly Schooling: Best Practices for At-Home Learning.

In addition, TPPF has released five research papers, sent 18 press releases, and published 32 op-eds from March 15-April 9, 2020.

While there are a lot of unknowns in the coming weeks, months, and years, one thing is certain: The Texas Public Policy Foundation is steadfast in its commitment to providing common-sense policy solutions for Texans and America.
