Yankee Institute shines a “Beam of Light” during dark times
Yankee Institute has been at the forefront of organizations offering policy proposals to help Connecticut succeed in the unprecedented times we currently face. Yankee offered general proposals at the start of the crisis followed by more specific commentary on things like healthcare, pensions, taxes, and business and how they relate to COVID-19. On April 2, 2020, Yankee Institute hosted a virtual version of their annual “insider’s breakfast” where a panel of experts addressed questions about policy, the Legislature, and other concerns related to the pandemic and its effect on Connecticut. Yankee publishes a daily updated page of resources and frequently asked questions for families, small businesses, and local governments as they deal with the impact of COVID-19.
Around the world, everyday people and businesses have done extraordinary things to help each other, and Yankee Institute highlights these actions on their website. Yankee’s “Beam of Light” is a dedicated place to lift spirits by illuminating the many acts of quiet heroism, generosity, individual initiative, and kindness that are happening every day across Connecticut during the coronavirus crisis.
As we continue to face uncertainty as a world, country, and state, Yankee Institute offers research and policy guidance to Connecticut leaders and the public to ensure prosperity and liberty.
