Description

Educational freedom was the great passion of scholar Andrew Coulson until his untimely death in 2016. Come learn about his lasting legacy and impact on education policy.

Education reform was the great passion of Andrew Coulson, former director of the Cato Institute’s Center for Educational Freedom and author of Market Education: The Unknown History. His documentary series, School Inc., has been broadcast on PBS this year across the country. He was committed to excellence in education and consistently advocated free-market reforms that would make schools more flexible, innovative, and responsive to the needs of parents and students.

Prominent education researchers and thinkers who knew Coulson well commemorate his legacy with articles that explore and expand upon his ideas. Neal McCluskey, Center for Educational Freedom director, and George Clowes, a Heartland Institute senior fellow, will discuss Coulson’s work and offer their insights about how to reform the education in the United States.

This event is hosted by Heartland Institute.
