We are stronger together
This year, California Policy Center (CPC) is working to address crony capitalism, educate public employees about their workplace rights, and help parents make better decisions regarding their children’s education.
For several decades, government unions have pushed policies that have been harmful to families and communities at large. These unions have stripped individuals of choice, raised the cost of living and engaged in activities that bankrupted cities and school districts. Rather than getting involved with state propositions and other ballot initiatives, CPC is laser focused on tackling the source of the problem: Government union funding.
Because CPC is a small but highly tactical organization, it aims to partner with like-minded organizations to achieve strategic goals on a large scale. For example, CPC collaborated with the Claremont Institute to educate local officials in Orange County on how they could avoid engaging in cronyism in position. Claremont provided an excellent curriculum and CPC handled logistics, mobilizing California Local Elected Officials (CLEO) members to attend the event. CLEO is a project of CPC that that trains, supports and advises local elected officials throughout the state. Likewise, CPC has continued its partnership with the Mackinac Center to educate public employees about their rights post-Janus. By using digital advertising and a robust grassroots program, CPC has been able to help decrease the number of public employees paying into unions across California.
