Our politics is fractured. Our nation was founded on a belief in individualism and the power of hard work and innovation. Free markets have allowed us to thrive. But extreme forces are threatening our progress and way of life. What’s needed more than ever is a trusted voice providing trusted information. We owe it to our families, our children and our community to support and defend our country – and the market that has made it so great. Founded in 2022, Mountain States Policy Center is based in Idaho, and is an independent think tank that believes in providing research and recommendations to lawmakers, the media and the public, based on facts – not emotion. Harnessing the power of publications, conferences and video events, MSPC brings forward free market solutions to our region’s biggest challenges and is a watchdog to improve government transparency and effectiveness. Our mission is to empower those in the Mountain States to succeed through non-partisan, quality research that promotes free enterprise, individual liberty and limited government. Our motto is "Free Markets First." Why? Because the free market – not government – is responsible for the greatest advancements in the history of the world. The government does not create prosperity - our citizens do. Instead of fighting battles with each other or calling names, Mountain States Policy Center will concentrate on advancing free markets. Before any government solution is put forward, the free market should be given a chance to succeed. The free-market solution should come first. Putting the free market first means putting families, children and small businesses first. Putting the free market first means doing everything possible to arrive at solutions that are from the people rather than from the government.
