The Empire Center will continue its efforts to encourage fiscally sound policies in Albany. This includes proposing ways to curb Medicaid spending, fighting back against the expansion of the Excelsior scholarship (a tuition-free college program), and warning against the dangers of a prevailing wage.

The Center will also continue to keep government agencies accountable with SeeThroughNY.net, New York’s go-to government transparency website.

Empire Center’s newest project, DeregulateNY, will highlight regulations that can artificially drive up costs and make it harder for new firms to enter a given industry or market, ultimately making New York a better place to do business.
