While much of America was focused on impeachment proceedings and the growing international pandemic, the Freedom Foundation remained hard at work, educating public employees about their rights to stop paying union dues and providing free legal assistance if they encounter problems with their union representatives.

In February, Freedom Foundation opened operations in its fifth state, Pennsylvania, with a press conference in the Capitol. Freedom Foundation (Pennsylvania) hired an outreach coordinator, who immediately put together outreach teams and obtained lists for mailings. Shortly after, Freedom Foundation hired a full-time state director to continue building up its operations in The Keystone State.

In March, the Freedom Foundation sent a letter to Governor Tom Wolf, calling for a three-month moratorium on government union dues deductions from public employee paychecks. Stopping union dues deductions for three months would return $63 million back to the employees who earned it, allowing Pennsylvanians to have more money to spend on bills during this economic crisis.

As of March 5, 2020, the Freedom Foundation has assisted more than 70,000 government employees in leaving their unions.
