Executive Leadership Program

SPN’s Executive Leadership Program challenges, inspires, and empowers state think tank leaders to build results-oriented organizations that champion actionable policy solutions and anchor durable freedom movements in their states.

Programs include:

Strategic Planning and Advising

An effective strategic plan is a crucial ingredient in the success of an organization. SPN offers executive leaders targeted help in strategic planning at each stage of their organization’s life cycle, including start-up strategic planning and strategic “tune-ups” along the way. SPN also works with affiliates to strengthen their ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.

Executive Training and Advising

SPN offers practical support and advising for executive leaders in fundraising, communications, and strategic thinking. Through leadership training and management support, SPN helps leaders build, sustain, and inspire high-performing teams. The SPN Annual Meeting offers a Leadership Track where executive leaders hear from industry experts and brainstorm challenges and solutions with each other.

Executive Peer Network

SPN fosters trusted relationships among executive leaders who can challenge, inspire, support, and learn from one another. SPN facilitates several in-person peer networking opportunities throughout the year and hosts CEO and executive vice president listservs to enable peers to stay in touch between in-person meetings.

Professional Development

SPN provides state think tank CEOs, presidents, executive directors, and executive vice presidents ongoing professional development support, including individualized training, coaching, and mentoring.
