Description

The Austrian Economics Center is proud to present the 10th Annual Free Market Road Show (FMRS), which toured from March 16 to May 22 through 45 capitals in Europe. The show will be making a special tour stop in the Chicago area, exclusively at Heartland on July 18, 2017. Register here.

The 2017 FMRS brings together leading business people, outstanding scholars, and policy experts to discuss the aftermath of two historic events: Great Britain’s decision to leave the European Union and the election of Donald J. Trump as president of the United States of America. Europe’s political elite as a whole was convinced the so-called Brexit could not happen. Deemed to be impossible until the very day of the election, people were shocked to see President Trump’s victory. FMRS speakers will focus on the consequences these events may bring to free trade and free movement of people. Moreover, they will discuss whether we are witnessing a popular uprising against political elites.

This event is hosted by Heartland Institute.
