Michael Tokarchick is the Director of Grants and Philanthropic Impact at State Policy Network. He produces grant proposals, reports, and other materials to maintain and strengthen SPN’s relationships with its foundation partners, as well as stewards awarded grants.
Prior to joining SPN, Michael was the Director of Donor Communications Strategy at Bearing Tree, which provides development and administrative services for mission-driven organizations. There, he worked with non-profit partners in the public policy and media spaces to grow their foundation donor portfolios. Before joining Bearing Tree, Michael held development positions at the Manhattan Institute, George Mason University Law & Economics Center, Institute for Justice, and Center for Competitive Politics.
Michael graduated magna cum laude from Marquette University with a B.A. in Political Science. He also earned an MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics, where he wrote his dissertation about the intersection of free speech and occupational licensing. An avid soccer fan, Michael supports D.C. United and Queens Park Rangers F.C. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife.
